“In 2023–24, total health spending was 10.1 percent of gross domestic product (GDP 1.1% more in real terms than in 2022–23), compared with an average of 8.1 percent across high-income countries.111 The government continues to be the largest contributor to health expenditure, at 74 percent of total health spending in 2022 (up from 71% in 2017).112“
